The formulation of the Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry has reached its third stage. The Third Focus Group Discussion (FGD III) serves as an internal coordination meeting involving all relevant units within the Ministry of Tourism to gather insights and refine the roadmap. FGD III follows the previous sessions: FGD I, which focused on identifying existing conditions, strategic issues, challenges, opportunities, and initial recommendations; and FGD II, which presented the draft Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry and sought verification from various stakeholders.
FGD III was held on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, at Hotel Orient Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and was attended by 45 participants. The session was officially opened by Drs. Vinsensius Jemadu, MBA, Deputy for Event Management Development. In his opening remarks, he expressed his hope that this discussion would deepen insights on inter-deputy collaboration to finalize the roadmap for the development of Indonesia’s tourism event industry.

Ms. Wiwik Mahdayani, Founder and Executive Director of DESMA Center, presented the draft of the Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry. Her presentation highlighted key points on the main pillars for developing the tourism event industry and the proposed action plan to accelerate its growth. The discussion gathered valuable inputs, including the need to enhance local governments’ capacity in tourism event marketing, the establishment of inter-deputy cooperation mechanisms, and the synchronization of the roadmap’s focus areas with other deputy programs.
The discussion was closed by Mr. Fransiskus Handoko, SST.Par., M.Sc, Assistant Deputy for Event Strategy, Deputy for Event Management Development. In his closing remarks, he expressed appreciation and emphasized the importance of collaboration among tourism deputies to accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s tourism event industry.
Through the formulation of this Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry, it is expected that relevant stakeholders will be engaged and the overall development of the tourism event industry in Indonesia will be accelerated—ensuring it becomes high-quality, competitive, and sustainable.
