ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) together with Grantees The Myanmar Small Grant Program (SGP) visited the Batu Katak Ecotourism Area, Batu Jongjong Village, Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL) on June 27 2024. In this activity, the DESMA Center as the implementing partner has carried out program SGP Cycle 3 in Batu Frog being one of several implementing partners visited in the context of discussions/comparative studies for implementing partners in Myanmar.

This activity was attended by Mr. Palber Turnip, S.P., M.H. , Head of Region 3 of the TNGL Center in Stabat, North Sumatra; ASEAN Center for Biodiversity; Grantees Myanmar Small Grant Program; Zuah Bangun, representing the DESMA Center Medan team; Women's group; and the Batu Katak community.

On this occasion, the DESMA Center explained achievement of capacity strengthening and digitalization programs for promotion of ecotourism development in the Batu Katak Ecotourism Area. The DESMA Center explained that the activities that had been carried out included a series of training and coaching, construction and renovation, establishment of a website platform, familiarization trip, CHSE certification, and B2B business meetings. After the presentation, grantees who came from Myanmar discussed with the DESMA Center and the community of the Batu Katak Ecotourism Area consisting of local tour guides and women's groups who process food and beverage products.

Grantees from Myanmar also did soft trekking to see the Ecotourism Attraction in Batu Katak, namely the largest flower in the world (Amorphophallus titanum) and taste lunch prepared and prepared by the group of women from the Batu Katak Ecotourism Area.
